WebBook and eBook versions, cover, and conversion from Word, 2015. This second edition of a professional book for students and family therapy specialists had its own Integrated Family Therapy website from 2015 to fall 2020. All book content, including cover, front-matter, chapters, and glossary was presented as HTML pages. Downloads of ePub, Mobi, and PDF versions were also freely available.
Minor updates were made in August 2020, when the PDF version was formatted as PDF/X for printing, and the ePub was converted to ePub3 for Amazon Kindle.
The website used WordPress to manage the organization and presentation of content. I experimented with regular posts, pages, and a custom post type for the book parts before choosing standard posts. While using a custom post type seemed like a no-brainer, simple posts are easy to organize and take advantage of many built-in WordPress features for controlling menus, book sections, navigation, and editing. Using WordPress also made it easy for the authors to collaborate with each other and with reviewer colleagues. When the book was complete and proofed, with links and images in place on the staging site, it was transferred to a new production site.
