Cover, eBook and Createspace conversions, 2014. Anatomy of Project Management explains the fundamental principles of project management and their practical application. The author is an experienced expert who writes with precision and enthusiasm. The book is not a long drawn-out textbook, but a synthesis of essential information and insights from working in the field.
My intent for the cover of this non-fiction management book was to reflect both its technical content and inherent optimism. The interior contains 34 illustrations. Anecdotes are styled to stand out from the flow of the narrative with indents, italics, light gray shading, and subtle special characters top and bottom. Kindle Paperwhite and Mobi-based Kindles do not display the background shading, but retain visual cues provided by the special characters (3 small squares in a darker gray than the background).
The print-on-demand Createspace version interior includes 300dpi grayscale illustrations instead of color, and the anecdotes are simply styled with indents and italics. The shading looked good in an early version of the PDF, but it would be screened in the printing process. Createspace “black & white” books are printed in K (black) only. There’s a good probability that left in place, the shading would have been more distracting than helpful.
This book is available at Amazon (USA and UK) in Kindle and Createspace paperback editions.
